Fiona's Message
"When the diary arrived I was in a difficult place. I had just left a marriage of 25 years, I had no piano, no money, nowhere to live and then my Sister's only son drowned. My son found him and dragged him from the bottom of the pool. I was contemplating my very existence. I was able to use my story in the diary to bring something terribly sad to life and turn grief into a beautiful memory. I love the piece i did with my sister, it made the diary a special experience for me and after that my life turned a corner"
"The end is the beggining, 600 Years and I'll be home, far from the shore, the winds will whisper,
600 Years and I will be home, wait my love, the end is the beginning"
About Fiona
Fiona is a pianist/singer and composer who fuses the genres of Celtic/New Age with World influences and Jazz rhythms. 2012 sees the release of LIVE at the Q and Sensual Journeys from this New Age favorite along with an ambitious tour of Australia and the US.
The family home was filled with music."My father played Jesus in the Tamworth Musical Society production of Jesus Christ Superstar, Andrew Lloyd Webber's music was part of our lives."Classically trained as a pianist, Fiona's music is thematic and melodic. With a keen eye on film she has always been interested in creating music that evokes images and emotions and tells a story. Fiona first began playing and writing music as a child and cites Ravel's Bolero as an early influence. "I played it over and over and deconstructed every part, I absolutely loved it," said Fiona. Other musical influences include: George Winston, Prokofiev and Mendelssohn.
An Australian ARIA Finalist in 2009 and Music OZ Winner in 2008, Fiona has been a finalist in over 43 Indie Artist Awards across 9 countries. Her earlier album, BLUE DREAM (ABC Music), received the highest ever ranking in the history of the New Age Reporter International Radio Charts, debuting at #1 and then winning the ZMR Album of the Year, Best Piano Album and Best Contemporary Instrumental Album.
In addition to composing Fiona is also a prolific painter who has been exhibiting since 1997. Fiona incorporates original manuscripts of her music on the canvas to create bold colorful mixed media abstracts so you can hear and see her music.
"The idea of synchronicity has always intrigued me, colors, ideas and emotions all have corresponding sounds", said Fiona. "I believe in the power of music as a source of inspiration and a way of reaching people, and I can transfer a musical quality through my art to the canvas."
As an artist and composer Fiona writes orchestrated classical piano music and uses the manuscript on the canvas. She paints bright abstracts but composes contemporary classical music usually in a minor key. The viewer can see and hear the music at the same time. Fiona has been painting for ten years and writing music since she was a child. Her love of music can be seen in her paintings. Contacts: email: This email address is being protected from spambots. Blue Dream
“Striking steel strings, tickled by the ivories. Brought me a musical rainbow, in lyrical shades and tones, a blue diamond shined, under the red crimson sunsets; sunrays caressed it, embraced it with light”
Dream glides, over crowed cities and forests unknown with the breezes of tomorrow, brought by the winds of yesterday, where the embroidered linen of heaven, caresses the valleys of Eden woven out of gold, azure, purple, and scarlet threads. Among rivers with otters and valleys with crows, from the shores of the new world through the down under streams in search, through the towering River Red Gums and Blue Passing the fair Blue Mountains and the pale red springs. Of a Sunrise so unique, so endless, over the Boulder made of sand of two boys played in mud, sons of angels hiding treasures of a caelulum effervescent shrine full of this world’s myths and secrets and now, mine. On Hyacinth orchids and scarlet roses, scattered among their feet fairies with lilac blossoms on their hair dressed in samite, with gold and silver, dance. As nymphs sing Fiona’s, endless Blue Dream, holding thin lace, made of colors of beloved Saturn’s light and Venus’ fiery skin, a double lilac feather saunters, until it finds peace. And the time has come for her to ponder, moving on with the secrets of a melody, that came from one single dream.
An Angel of Love, of Fire & Water
placed its palm one day, on her wonder .. ..
A twin feather; in blend colors of pale red and fair blue
fell from his wings and onto her shoulder caressed her...;
embraced her, in light cobalt and turquoise
She smiled, she turned, her head where it was and she started to play; her riant song
Red Angel
“ A diamond bursts and its fragments fall from the ancient strings on to the modern ends. And echoes pass sudden, the Angel collects them and holds them with passion with hands of devotion…”
As she plays my ancient elegy with the harp of destiny, millions of particles of sound and images, creatures with no free will, dance with my whispers and sing into the quiescence; A song of Love, a song phonique. My love for the fools, my burden, rises from the void. Indigo light governs my quondam lives; light calls me to see, I fall, I jump, I feel, I fly through, I live the quintessence of my dreams. When you opened the gate of Love, with keys of sol & FaI lived my dreams,My soul was set freeAs the double lilac feather lands. My soul, that dwelled within a glimpse, vibrates, lifts me, exhales from the very deep within me. And as a tragedy bursts, breathed out and into, the Consciousness of fools, my brethren. My heart’s tempo, my life’s crescendo transforms into sounds; Starts over; I breathe. Affection has thousand names; some make my thoughts rhyme and words become an obsession, causing emotion to motion and chords vibrate senses and play with the glances. A lilac feather glides and flies and there justifies.... My love's greatest notion,
an endless Blue Dream...
